Simply put, it's the greatest show on Earth. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand the intelligent humor, but it's like a breath of fresh air from all of the mind-numbing idiocy in today's sitcoms. Sure, I like stupid humor as much as the next guy, but I can only take so much of The Office before I have to change the channel. It brings in the sexual situational humor that's present in just about every other show in America, but without being one of those over-the-top, pick a girl up at a bar for a one night stand type things. It doesn't project that image of needing to be perfect or incredibly good looking to be happy.
The other aspect of the show that I really appreciate is the character development. Each of the main characters has their oddities and their quirks that are portrayed in such a way that you feel like you actually know them. There is and will only ever be one Sheldon.
